Your Class Needs To Move. Your Schedule Doesn't Need Another Program.

Moving & Learning builds movement into the lesson you already teach. Kids spell with their feet, do math on the court, act out a story. Movement isn't the reward after the work. It's the work.

In Class

Help More Students Take Part.

Students who struggle to stay with a worksheet can move first, then say the word, solve the problem or write the line.

In Class

Teach The Lesson. Keep Them Moving.

Teach the lesson that's already on your plan and build toward Ontario's daily movement minutes at the same time.

In Class

Low prep. Easy to run.

Most activities use chalk, cones, simple printables, or nothing at all. Pick one that fits the space and time you have.

At Home

No Classroom Required.

Turn spelling and times tables into movement games that families can adapt to the space they have.

Why Movement Matters.

Reading takes practice. So does throwing, balancing, jumping and feeling confident enough to join in.

39% Meet The Daily Recommendation.

Only 39% of Canadian kids aged 5 to 17 get the recommended 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity a day.2024 ParticipACTION Report Card

Movement Supports More Than Fitness.

Active outdoor play is associated with physical, social and mental-health benefits. Canada’s 24-Hour Movement Guidelines also recognize that physical activity, limited sedentary time and sufficient sleep work together to support health.Position Statement on Active Outdoor Play · Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines

Questions Teachers And Parents Ask.

What are good brain breaks for elementary students?

The best ones do two jobs at once: the class moves and keeps learning. Kids spell words with their feet, run to the answer in math, act out a story. Two to ten minutes. No gym time, no equipment beyond what’s already in the room.

How do I teach math and reading through movement?

Give the answer a place in the room and make them go to it. Numbers on the floor, letters on the wall, targets to hit. We write these as printable low-prep lessons for Grades 1 to 8 that line up with the Ontario curriculum. Print one, run it the same day.

How do I meet Daily Physical Activity without losing lesson time?

You don’t have to choose. Ontario elementary schools owe students sustained daily physical activity during class time. These lessons count twice: kids get the movement minutes while they work on reading, phonics or math. Nothing gets cut to make room.

Do the lessons cover social and emotional learning?

Yes. Our stories come with ten or more SEL questions for a teacher or parent to ask. How did the character feel. What would you have done. Who needed help and nobody noticed. The story gets kids moving, the questions get them talking. The five story bundle is on Teachers Pay Teachers, and we bring the stories into schools as part of a booked program.

How do I get my child to talk about their feelings?

Start with somebody else's. It is far easier for a kid to say why a character was scared than to say why they were. Our stories end with ten or more questions built for exactly that, written out for you. No training needed, you just read the next one. Story one is free, so you can read one tonight before you decide anything.

What helps a kid who can’t sit still?

Let them move first, then work. Teachers tell us students come back calmer and stay with the lesson longer. One Peel teacher opens the day with a word-of-the-day Story Challenge and has had fewer disruptions since she started.

How can I help my child read better at home?

Short, daily and active beats long and painful. The Story Challenge gives you a word a day, a movement to go with it and a page to write on. About ten minutes. Same activities teachers use, and two are free.

Do I need a gym or equipment?

No. Built for the room you already have: classroom, hallway, gym or schoolyard. Most need nothing but floor space. Print the page and run it.
